About the coast in the province of A Coruña
By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated
The coast of the province of A Coruña faces the Atlantic Ocean and takes in much of the Rías Altas, with the estuaries of A Coruña, Ares e Betanzos, Ferrol, Cedeira and Ortigueira. In Ferrolterra rise the cliffs of the Serra da Capelada and Cape Estaca de Bares, where the Atlantic meets the Cantabrian Sea, and there are natural lagoons of great ecological value, such as Doniños and A Frouxeira.
The Costa da Morte stretches along the north-west of the province, with cliffs, capes such as Fisterra, Touriñán and Vilán, and large beaches such as Carnota, O Rostro and Baldaio. To the south, the Ría de Muros e Noia opens the Rías Baixas, and the Sálvora archipelago, in the province, is part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia Maritime-Terrestrial National Park.
