The coastline of the province of Pontevedra is part of the Rías Baixas and runs down to the mouth of the Miño at A Guarda. Its beaches are spread across the estuaries of Arousa, Pontevedra and Vigo, the Val Miñor and the Baixo Miño, with urban beaches such as Silgar and Samil, rural beaches, dune areas and coves such as Pipín and Castiñeiras.
Off the coast lie the Cíes, Ons and Cortegada archipelagos, which are part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia Maritime-Terrestrial National Park; the Cíes are home to Rodas beach. The coastline also includes Natura 2000 network sites such as the Umia-O Grove intertidal complex, the Costa da Vela, at the western tip of the Morrazo peninsula, and the San Simón inlet.
