About the coast in Cariño

By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated

Cariño's coast is part of the Ártabro coast, open to the Atlantic, with Cape Ortegal and the Herbeira cliffs in the A Capelada range. Cape Ortegal, with unusual rock formations, is part of the Natura 2000 network and of the Costa Ártabra special protection area for natural values. In the town centre lies the curving stretch of sand of A Concha and A Basteira, with an area of dunes, and on the Figueiroa peninsula is Fornos beach, its sand greyish and reddish from material of the Cape Ortegal geological complex.
