About A Area das Lobeiras

A Area das Lobeiras beach lies between Arou and Santa Mariña, a short distance from the village of Arou, facing the Lobeiras islands, which sit a few metres off the shore and stand out at low tide. It is an isolated beach, 240 m long. Its sand is fairly coarse, and it also serves as a harbour for the boats of the goose-barnacle gatherers. Where the sand meets the land behind it, a small line of dunes forms. At the top of the path down there is a natural viewpoint over the beach, the islands and the nearby coast.
