Madanela beach lies next to the breakwater that channels the mouth of the river Eume. It is 1,100 metres long, with an average width of 50 metres, and has white sand. To the east it is bordered by a nine-hectare pine wood, with pines, oaks and some large cork oaks, crossed by wooden boardwalks. At its northern end, by a cliff, a wooden staircase leads to the Sendeiro da Costa coastal path, which continues towards Chamoso beach and the mouth of the river Castro.
