Playa de Torrenueva is a broad beach of grey sand at the foot of the Sierra Carbonera, surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland and primary dunes. Its main access is beside Torre Nueva, an old watchtower with two bunkers at its base, and a sloping bank screens it from the housing estate behind. To the south, from the El Burgo holiday residence, Sobrevela beach, with its dark sand, runs on to the La Atunara district.
