Playa de la Barrosa takes up most of the coastline of Chiclana de la Frontera and is about 5.3 kilometres long. It is a very wide urban beach of fine golden sand with a gentle slope, which makes it a family beach. Its northern end, near the start of the Barrosa road, looks towards the castle of Sancti Petri, and the residential area of Novo Sancti Petri lies at its southern end.
