Atxabiribil beach, in Sopela, shares its sand with Arriatera beach, with no clear boundary between the two. At low tide the two form a single, very large stretch of sand. It is sheltered by cliffs and is a surfing area: at Atxabiribil, also known as El Peñón, the waves break over rocks.
