About Playa de A Lanzada

A Lanzada beach belongs to the municipalities of Sanxenxo and O Grove and has some 2,400 metres of fine white sand. It forms part of the sandy isthmus that joins the O Grove peninsula to the mainland and keeps one of the largest dune fields in Galicia; inland lies the O Vao inlet, with its marshes. The beach, its dunes and the O Vao marshes are protected within the Natura network. At the southern end stand the remains of the Torre de A Lanzada, a medieval fortress listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural, near the hillfort and the chapel of Nosa Señora da Lanzada.
