About the coast in the province of Málaga
By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated
The province of Málaga lies on the Mediterranean coast, between the provinces of Cádiz and Granada, and its coastline is the Costa del Sol, which runs as far as Nerja, on the border with Granada. In both the eastern and the western parts of the province there are secluded spots surrounded by nature as well as established resort areas. Many beaches lie between the mountains and the sea, and there are numerous marinas along the coast.
Its coastal towns include Nerja, Torrox, Vélez-Málaga, Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, Estepona, Manilva and Casares. At the eastern end, the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Site (Paraje Natural Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo) stretches from the Maro tower, in Nerja, to La Herradura, in the province of Granada. Steep cliffs alternate with beaches and small coves, and the protected area includes a strip of sea one nautical mile wide.

Each beach page uses these names when they blow, and they count in the verdict like any other wind. Each name links to its definition.
- Tide
In the Mediterranean the tide varies by only a few centimetres, so we do not mark high or low tide.
