Poniente beach, also known as Pando, lies in the west of Gijón, in the area known as Fomento, very close to the marina. It is an artificial stretch of golden sand, created in the mid-nineties on the site of former shipyards. It is part of the accessible pedestrian route between Cimavilla and Poniente.
