About the coast in Gijón
By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated
Gijón/Xixón lies on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea, right on the Costa Verde. Its old town, formed by Santa Catalina hill and the fishing quarter of Cimadevilla, separates San Lorenzo beach from Poniente beach. Shell-shaped San Lorenzo beach, in the heart of the city, is lined by the promenade known as El Muro, which runs from the church of San Pedro to Mayán de Tierra and crosses the mouth of the river Piles.
