La Patacona lies at the southern end of Alboraya and joins directly onto Malvarrosa Beach in Valencia. It is a wide, open urban beach, more than 1 km long and about 110 m wide on average, with a seafront promenade running along it. To the north it borders Els Peixets Beach, which stretches to the mouth of the Carraixet ravine and is the only undeveloped beach in the municipality, with dunes.
